Patras is a city located in the periphery of Western Greece (in the regional unit of Achaea), overlooking the Ionian Sea. The city has a Upper part (Anal Canal), where they are present fortress (Kastro) and the Roman Theatre (Odeon), discovered at the end of the 19th century and realised on a pre-existing Greek structure. Currently used for cultural events. There are the Church of Saint Andrew which houses the official relics of the saint and the Apollo Theatre. A great idea for a day trip Diakopto, one Coastal town neighbour. The Rio Antirrio Bridge is instead the World's longest suspension bridge and it has allowed for a considerable shortening of journeys between the Peloponnese peninsula and mainland Greece.
