Genoa

Genoa is a city on the Ligurian Sea with an important port, and it was the capital of one of the maritime republics from the 11th century to 1797. Genoa, after Venice, possesses the the largest historic city centre in Europe, elected a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2006.
