Civitavecchia, with its ancient origins, overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea, a short distance from Rome, the capital.. The Port of Civitavecchia is divided into two areasone intended for trade, coastal shipping and fishing; another intended for cruise ships and recreational boating.
