Barcelona

Barcelona is the oldest port city in Spain and is the capital of Catalonia. It is the largest industrial and financial centre in Spain, after Madrid, as well as the largest commercial and tourist port among the major ones in Europe. The most fascinating districts of Barcelona are the Gothic Quarter Gothic and the Raval, near the port area. One of Barcelona's most famous streets is La Rambla (almost as long a kilometre and a half) that runs along one of Barcelona's oldest neighbourhoods: the Gothic Quarter, with the Barcelona Cathedral and the Basilica of the Saints Justus and Pastor. The Port of Barcelona is located in the centre of Barcelona, just below the old town and is surrounded by Neighbourhoods of Raval, Gothic Quarter, Poble Sec, Montjuïc, Barceloneta e Ribera.
Most passenger ferries and cruise ships depart from Port Vell.
There are also several passenger terminals, including these: Grimaldi Terminal Barcelona, North Terminal World Trade Center, Balearia Boarding Dock. The Italian routes connect to the port of Genoa, Civitavecchia and Porto Torres in Sardinia. The routes with the ports of Balearics lead to Palma de MallorcaAlcúdiaMahon e Ciutadella.Bottle North African lead to Nador e Tangier.

Documents and Visas

The country is part of the EU and adheres to the Schengen Agreement, so an entry visa is not required, but it is Passport required Hello Identity card valid for travel abroad, valid.

Vehicles in transit

In Spain, both an Italian driving licence and insurance policy are considered valid for driving. If you drive a car that does not belong to you abroad, it is advisable to have a letter of authorization from the owner to drive, with an authenticated signature. It is compulsory to use seat belts, approved car seats for children and high-visibility reflective vest, in compliance with EU regulations. For riding motorcycles over 125cc, it is mandatory to have hard hat. Please note that checks at the land border between Gibraltar and Spain (La Línea de la Concepción) can still be particularly thorough. Pay attention to driving regulations. Spain has introduced a points-based driving licence with strict checks. Motorways are toll roads; payment can be made at the toll booths using cash or credit card.

Animals Travelling

In Spain, dogs, cats, and ferrets under three months old are not permitted entry because they have not yet been vaccinated against rabies. To travel, you need a EU passport with active rabies vaccination and one Cash on delivery (microchip or a legible tattoo). Spanish law regulates potentially dangerous dog breeds and their crosses (Pitbull terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, Dogo argentino, etc.) for which an administrative license issued or renewed by the competent municipal body is required; one must be of legal age, have no criminal record, and be insured with a civil liability policy.

  • How to get to the port

    Barcelona is served by an extensive network of public transport Metropolitan Network. Near the port area there is the stop Barceloneta L4 (yellow line) and stop Drassanes L3 (green line). The main bus lines that reach the port are D20, H14, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, 21, 47, 59 and 120. There are also guaranteed Night buses (Baixbus) in Plaça de Catalunya with the lines: N16, N17 and N18 colleagues with the Terminal. From the'airport Barcelona-El Prat It is possible to reach the city by several means. Car hire relying on one of the agencies present at the airport, or renting one scooter once you arrive in town Public transport: combining mode and line 3 of Underground per stop Shipyards The'Aerobus arrives at Plaça de Catalunya Il Bus 46 reaches Plaça d'Espanya Il R2N Train, starts from Terminal 2 and arrives at the train station Barcelona Sants. From each arrival point, take the Level 3 Green line of the metro and get off at Drassanes stop, The port is a few minutes' walk away. From the airport, it is however always possible to take a Taxi or what Transfer. If you arrive by car, there is a dedicated area for short stays. If you are looking for a place to leave your car for a few days, the easiest and most convenient solution is the World Trade Center car park in Barcelona's Moll.
